STRONG UNIONS STRONGER DEMOCRACY

Join your fellow union siblings at the Connecticut AFL-CIO’s Sixteenth Biennial Political Convention at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. Together, we will vote on political endorsements, prepare for the critical 2026 election season, participate in a wide range of workshops, and shape the future of our movement through resolutions.

Delegates will collectively consider endorsements for key federal races including all five U.S. House seats as well as statewide contests for Governor, constitutional offices, and every seat in the Connecticut General Assembly.

DAY 01

Political Strategy & Plenary Session

Kick off the convention with keynote remarks from AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler and IAM Union International President Brian Bryant, an outline of our political roadmap for the upcoming election cycle, workshops, and interviewing candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General.

DAY 02

Endorsement Votes & Take Action

Engage in deep-dive discussions on worker-focused legislation, policy advocacy, and the critical issues facing Connecticut's working families. We will recognize elected officials who have gone above and beyond for working people and prepare for the critical election season ahead. Importantly, delegates will vote on possible endorsements.
